Positioned at the heart of our organisation, our Youth Board will represent and communicate the views of all young people to inform and enhance our work. Our Youth Board will give a voice to young people from every corner of society.

Our Youth Board will have three main areas of responsibility:

  • Inform - Challenge the YST on how to utilise the YST Youth Board to full effect
  • Influence - Support YST to communicate with and support Young people
  • Engage - Be a figurehead for YST and their youth audience

As a volunteer member of the Youth Board you will be responsible for advising the Youth Sport Trust on its work, you have the chance to transform young people’s lives.

Being a member of the Youth Board will provide you with the opportunity to develop a range of skills, including decision making, leadership, communication and many more, all of which prospective employers are looking for.

As part of the Youth Board you will find yourself at some of our major events, from National Conferences to Residential Camps, you might even end up on stage presenting awards or speaking in front of a thousand plus people. Your experience with the Youth Board will undoubtedly mean you will rub shoulders and chat with some big names in sport, key political figures and some movers and shakers in business.

Successful applicants will be invited to a video interview via Zoom https://www.zoom.us/signupon either Monday 10th June or Tuesday 11th June.

Commitment is required at various events and meetings at locations across the UK (travel expenses covered).

Dates set for these are:

  • Wednesday 18th September 2019
  • Monday 4th November 2019
  • Youth Sport Trust Conference – Thursday 27th February 2020 (tbc)
  • Tuesday 24th March 2020
  • Thursday 7th May 2020

There is an expectation to attend a further two events on behalf of the Youth Sport Trust during the year.
